Hit an IRA

HOLE IN ONE

The IRA Charitable Rollover permits taxpayers

over age 70½ tomake non-taxable donations

directly to eligible charitable organizations

such as the foundations that support Cottage

Health’s hospitals. IRA rollover distributions are

counted for purposes of meetingminimum

distribution requirements but don’t count as

income to you.

The odds of hitting a hole-in-one on the golf

course are roughly 1 in 12,500, but the odds of

getting an IRA hole-in-one are greater.

you have the

satisfaction of knowing that you can help

support quality healthcare in our community.

HERE’S HOW ITWORKS:

AGE:

70 ½ and older.

ELIGIBLE RETIREMENT ACCOUNTS:

Traditional or Roth IRA accounts.

DIRECT TRANSFER TO CHARITY:

Funds must

be transferred by the IRA trustee directly to

the eligible charity.

ANNUAL CAP:

Total combined charitable

IRA rollover contributions may not exceed

$100,000 per person in any one year.

NO GIFTS IN RETURN:

Donors may not

receive any goods or services in return for

charitable IRA rollover contributions.

WRITTEN RECEIPT:

Cottage will provide you

the required substantiation of your IRA

rollover.

NO CHARITABLE CONTRIBUTION

DEDUCTION:

No charitable deduction

may be taken.
